The cheetah has a slender body and long legs.Also has semi retractable claws.They have short fur usually tan with black spots.The black "tear" marks keep the sun out of their eyes.An adult cheetah weighs 90-140 pounds body length is usually 45-55 inches(90-110 centimeters).Tail is usually about 33 inches(66 centimeters).The male is also slightly larger.Males also live and hunt in packs unlike females.Cheetahs pur while other cats roar.runs at speeds of 70 miles per hour about 150 kilometers per hour.Also has large nostrils,lungs,and heart for running.Normally takes about 60 breaths per minute but after running takes in about 160 breaths per minute.Were also hunted years back witch prabably affected it's population.And are now protected by law.They are carnivores witch means they are meat eaters.Usually eats mammals under 90 pounds.Witch includes gazzelle antelope and impalas.And finally are the smallest of the big cats.
