Dodo Bird
Picture by: Amerman Elementary School, Northville, Michigan USA
A dodo is a type of bird. The bird feeds on plants. The first dodo was found in the 1600's. Travelers used to eat them when they got hungry and they couldn't find food. The dodo used to be able to fly until it landed in a place where there were no predators. Dodos stopped flying and started walking everywhere. The dodo kept eating and got fatter. Soon, the dodo got so fat, it couldn't fly. They became extinct because people were cutting down trees and dodos need trees because that is where they get food. The dodo was extinct 80 years later because animals ate the eggs and ate the birds.
