Walrus

text: Lia (Oak Park, USA), drawing Marisa (Northville, USA)

A male walrus is called a bull and a female walrus is called a cow. A bull weighs about 2 tons and a cow weighs about 1 ton. Cows are 8- 9 feet long. Bulls are 10- 12 feet long. When they are born they are pink and when they grow up they turn brown. The length of the tusks determines how important they are in the group. They eat clams, snails, crabs, shrimp and worms - these are all invertebrates. Some of them live in America ( Alaska ) during the winter and then migrate to Russia during the summer to follow the food. I hope you found this interesting.
